Coconut Shell Charcoal · Indonesia to the World

Coconut shell charcoal, sourced in Indonesia — built for the world's shisha, grill, and fuel trade.

Hutagri is a Dubai-based trading house exporting natural coconut shell charcoal briquettes from Indonesia to buyers worldwide — a cleaner, longer-burning, low-smoke fuel made from a farming byproduct, not cut timber.

Our Story

Huta means village. Everything worth exporting starts in one.

In the Batak language of North Sumatra, huta means village — a small, self-sufficient community built around the land. It's also where nearly every truly premium Indonesian agricultural product actually begins: not in a factory, but in a huta, where coconut palms have been tended by the same families for generations.

Indonesia is one of the world's largest coconut producers, and most of that harvest is still processed close to where it's grown — village by village, shell by shell, using methods refined over decades rather than shortcuts invented for scale.

Hutagri exists to carry what one huta does well to the rest of the world. We select the coconut shell charcoal that meets that standard, source it from across Indonesia, and put it in front of the buyers who turn it into something people use every day: a shisha lounge in Dubai, a grill in Riyadh, a barbecue night anywhere charcoal quietly does its job. Huta is where it started. Agri is how it reaches you.

The Product

Coconut Shell Charcoal Briquettes

Made by carbonizing coconut shells — a byproduct of coconut farming, not a reason to cut down a tree — then compressing the char into dense, long-burning briquettes. It lights cleanly, holds heat for hours, and leaves behind a fraction of the ash and odor of ordinary wood charcoal.

It's the standard fuel behind shisha lounges, restaurant grills, and barbecue brands across the world, and a common feedstock for activated carbon production.
